Jan 05, 2010 – Each season of The Apprentice begins with a certain task and its own way to pass. However, there has been no change that there are 18 contestants devided into two groups, from 9 people's competition to 2 people's challenge. The final winner will the one who has met and overcome the great challenge of an interchangeable experience from team-working to leadership, to team-working, and to leadership at last. An excellent apprentice will have to learn to adjust his/her state to roles of a leader and a team member in 15 weeks.

To be a leader, one should have the convincing leadership and judgment. He/she should find out and utilize every teammate's strong point, and trust them; when coming to a crossroad, he/she should make a quick decision. Though he/she may fail to finish the task, he/she should keep calm, concentrating in judging and analyzing the causes of failure. He/She should take up his/her responsibility for the team, and find out and "execute" the "problem person", no personal relationship or brotherly friendship, but business is business.
As a team member, he/she should show his/her strong creative consciousness and power on implement --- two basic abilities to be an excellent staff. Interpersonal relationship is of course important, but if he/she cannot do these two points well and assume a moderate attitude to save their own skin, he/she will be regarded as a mediocrity soon because he/she contributes nothing and has no potential. And the conceited one or opposite one will be shunted aside by others and executed for non-loyal imputation. Self do, self have.
In the pre-period of the fifteen weeks, it tests teammates' creative consciousness, leadership, judgment and power on implement. People who can pass this period must be the ones who have great ability to control the outside situation. And the last and also the crucial period, it tests human inner will. The rival is the competitor himself/herself. This is the most difficult overcoming ego block for human. If there's any withdrawal idea flasing in the mind, the game is over then.

From The Apprentice show, we can know that, in this times, to be an excellent manager, one should have all the 5 following qualities:
convincing leadership,
endless creativity,
decisive judgment,
executive ability,

strong will.
