Blue Beanstalk, is it the new Craigslist?

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 05, 2009 – Blue Beanstalk. What is it? Does it grow? Questions like these are surfacing more and more as Blue Beanstalk becomes more popular. So what is Blue Beanstalk?
Blue Beanstalk is a website founded in late 2008, written be a 20 year old PHP programmer with the intention of creating a place online for users to advertise things they are selling and services they offer, on a primarily local level, but potentially to a national audience...for free. Many people were skeptical of the idea,  believing the competition was far to great with Craigslist, eBay, and the hundreds of other classified ad sites.
When the site was first released for review, people were amazed at the “clean and crisp” feel of the site. The actual power of the site is nicely concealed beneath an extremely simple and user friendly user interface.
So what is different, and what makes this site “powerful”? Good question! The first element that sets Blue Beanstalk a notch above the rest is the ability to post to any city. Sounds like Craigslist? Not really. True, Craigslist ads are posted by city, but the number of cities is limited to those in their database. Blue Beanstalk allows users to post to anywhere there is a zip code.
Does this make be site complicated? Not at all. Users do not have to take the time to browse to separate and distinct cities like Craigslist requires their users to do. They merely have to choose the distance they want to search from their home town, and Blue Beanstalk returns all the results from every city in that distance.
Blue Beanstalk also provides a spectacular place to list houses, apartments, land, and really any type of real-estate. People can now have much more exposure than even a newspaper could offer, free.
Pictures are included with every listing, and a preview is shown in search results, making it far easier and quicker for users to find the results they are looking for.
This site is free? Yes, completely free, users are not charged for anything, not one cent. Blue Beanstalk makes its money from advertisers who pay to have non intrusive banner ads placed on various locations on the site.
Blue Beanstalk, while it may not be alive, is definitely growing!
